The GSQ Resource Centre at 38 Fisher Street, East Brisbane is open during the following hours.
•Tuesday through Friday: 10.00 am to 3.00 pm
•Saturday: 12.00pm to 4.00pm
•2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month: 6.00pm to 9.00pm
•Sundays: Open for Interest Group meetings only.
The Centre is closed each Monday, and all public holidays (incl. Easter Saturday).
Library resources are available for use by all members, free of charge, during the advertised hours. Non-members may use these resources for a daily fee of $20.00.

Interests
Interest Groups have been formed to assist members and exchange information in specialised areas. These groups meet bi-monthly on Sundays. See the Events Calendar for meeting dates.
All members of the Society are welcome to attend. There is no cost, but a gold coin donation is appreciated. These donations are used to purchase resources appropriate to the group's aims.

Southern Suburbs has regular presentations on a wide range of topics. The Society encourages family history research by providing resources and help on research techniques in a welcoming, friendly and supportive environment. There is a research library where books and microfiche are able to be borrowed for a small fee. There are also a wide range of CD-ROMS for use within the library. Previous projects have included indexing and publishing school records and cemetery records.
$5 per hour non-members; $20 per hour for Society to search on your behalf

The Mackay Branch of the Genealogical Society of Qld was formed at a meeting in the CWA Hall, Gordon Street on 22 April 1981. There were 7 financial members from the first meeting.
The aim of the Society was to further the study of family trees and family history, and to provide help and resources to people who want to know more about their family history.
Punctual Proofreading offers proofreading and editing services for family historians and writers. The editor has professional editing experience at the Dictionary of New Zealand Biography and Butterworths LexisNexis, has a keen eye for detail and has in-depth knowlegde of punctuation and grammar. She has a Master of Literature degree (with Distinction) in history and a Bachelor of Arts degree (with First Class Honours). Reasonable rates and quick turnaround for urgent projects. Old photos of your ancestors may continue to fade or be damaged and lost. We can turn them into magnificent hand painted oil on canvas paintings. We have produced many wonderful results. Simply send us the photo of your ancestor either by email...or by maill. We will scan the picture you send and return it...or we will use the emailed image to create a colour, painted portrait in the size yoiu nominate...frame it and send it to you...wherever you are around Australia ...or around the world.
