The Family History Collection is the best place to start your search as it holds New Zealand birth, death, and marriage indexes, shipping indexes, cemetery and probate indexes and electoral rolls.

Further in-depth research can be done using material from the Alexander Turnbull Library collections which contain New Zealand’s national documentary heritage.
