Ron Austin

Ron Austin is a well known military historian, author and publisher of Australian military history.

After completing National Service he served for 21 years in the Army Reserves (infantry), being awarded the Efficiency Decoration and the Reserve Force Decoration.

For 20 years he has been taking annual battlefield tours for Belmore Travel to Gallipoli and the Western France, and has also taken tours to Tobruk, Greece, South Africa (Boer War) and New Guinea.

He has written encyclopedias on Gallipoli and the Boer War, seven WW1 and 1 WW2 unit histories and other military books.

His academic qualifications include a BA in Asian history, and two post Graduate Diplomas.

Since 1989 Ron and his wife Sue have operated Slouch Hat Publications which specialises in publishing Australian military history.
