Join us for a free full day symposium which explores the important role of heritage tourism in Queensland.

Heritage tourism in Queensland is recognised
as an area of growth, opportunity and relevance. From the ‘Arts for all Queenslanders 2014–2018’ strategy to the ‘DestinationQ’ plan for tourism in Queensland, priority has been placed on identifying, creating and connecting tourism experiences that celebrate Queensland heritage, Indigenous cultures, arts, and environment.

Queensland Heritage on the Map: Heritage Tourism symposium’, facilitated by renowned Australian journalist and a presenter of Channel 7’s Great South East, Ms Jillian Whiting, is a great opportunity for representatives from heritage and culture sectors, tourism organisations and operators, and government to come together to share practical examples and discuss strategies that connect and strengthen heritage tourism in Queensland.

Speakers include:
• Mark Olsen, General Manager Consulting, EC3 Global
• Thomas E Perrigo, CEO, National Trust of Australia (WA)
• George Seymour, Councillor, Fraser Coast Regional Council
• Rory O’Connor, Director, Yugambeh Museum, Language and Heritage Research Centre
• Cameron Costello, CEO, Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation
• Representatives of Queensland’s leading regional, heritage, and tourism organisations
