Join Carolyn Spooner and Isabel Story for readings from the diaries and letters of Adelaide nurses Irene Bonnin and Sister Olive LC Haynes. Hear first-hand accounts of wartime hospitals and casualty stations in Cairo, Lemnos, France and England 1915–18. These are set against conditions for returnees in hospitals on the home front. These reports are given a soldier’s perspective by additional readings from the diary of Louis Willyama Avery of the 3rd Field Company Engineers.
