Rajendra Prasad is the author of book Tears in Paradise – Suffering and Struggles of Indians in Fiji 1879-2004. He is a descendant of the Indian indentured labourers who were taken to Fiji to work in the sugarcane plantations from 1879-1919. He accidentally found his family roots in India in 1974. It is a heart-wrenching story that ignited a passion in his heart to write a book on the history of the Indo-Fijian community.
