Tim Bonyhady: Good Living Street - the Fortunes of my Vienna Family
At the monthly meeting of The Heraldry & Genealogy Society of Canberra on Tuesday 4 September 2012 at 8pm at the Neighbourhood Hall, Cook Community Hub, 41 Templeton Street Cook (6251 7004) our guest speaker will be Dr Tim Bonyhady. Tim’s topic will be: Good Living Street - the Fortunes of my Vienna Family.
Tim Bonyhady is a lawyer, historian and curator who works at the Australian National University. His many books include Burke and Wills: From Melbourne to Myth, Places Worth Keeping: Conservation, Politics and Law and the prize-winning The Colonial Earth. He was a curator of the Vienna Art and Design exhibition staged by the National Gallery of Victoria in 2011.
In this talk, Tim will discuss his most recent book Good Living Street which follows his family from the Czech Crown Lands through Vienna to Australia. He will both explain how he wrote the book and the sources he found which allowed him to construct his family history.
There is no charge for attending the monthly meeting and visitors are welcome.
