If you are working on a family tree, interested in local history, a new resident who would like to know more about the area you are now calling home, or would like to know more about the local history centre, come along to the open day.

You are most welcome to drop in for a chat and have a browse.

Records include thousands of photographs of the area including Houghton, Paracombe, Hermitage, Inglewood, Cudlee Creek, Sunninghill, Millbrook, Chain of Ponds, Kersbrook, Kenton Valley, Forreston, Gumeracha, Birdwood, Blumberg and Mount Torrens.

The centre has a large collection of records on cd's as well as a huge paper archive fully acccessible, some of which are school, council, church, cemetery, maps and plans.

The volunteer staff have a wide knowledge and expertise in the local area also in tracing family trees; if you are at a 'dead end' our members may be able to help you with information on where to turn to next.

Centre also opens Tuesdays 10 to 3pm from February to the second Tuesday in December.
