The Bay to Birdwood is the largest, continually held motoring event for veteran, vintage and classic vehicles held anywhere in the world boasting a reach across a broad demographic. This is an event that truly has no age limit.
This year is the Bay to Birdwood Run, an event for cars manufactured prior to 1 January 1956.
The Bay to Birdwood is a community icon event, with over 5,000 participants in entrant vehicles, hundreds of volunteers and tens of thousands of spectators.
The day begins with Breakfast With The Cars, which has become a tradition, this is the spectators' opportunity to mix 'n mingle with entrants and their vehicles. Enjoy a variety of breakfasts provided by local service organisations washed down with jazz and other vintage entertainment, with the start of the race at 8:30am.It takes approximately 1.5 hours for all entrant vehicles to depart on the route to Birdwood - give them a send off they won't forget!
Spectators line the 70km route to watch this event as it travels through metropolitan Adelaide and the hills region on its way to the National Motor Museum in Birdwood. Here, car enthusiasts and spectators enjoy an afternoon of car displays, entertainment and the very popular judging for the Fashions in the Field. So, pack a picnic basket and join many of the entrants in the paddock or pre-order a basket filled with Adelaide Hills regional produce.
To avoid the traffic and travel to Birdwood via the SE Freeway to Hahndorf and then through the Onkaparinga Valley.
