'All the Fun of the Fair' Liverpool Family History Fair 2011

The Family History Centre will be open from 9.30am till 4pm both days to provide assistance to anyone either beginning their family history or those who have hit a block and just need some advice.

Come along and talk to our specialists on topics such as researching your family history online. One-on-one help and advice available on both days

Friday 19 August — Day 1

10am               Heritage Scrapbooking

Bring along approximately 20 photos and learn to scrapbook. Each participant will create a small album to keep or give as a gift. (Pre booking essential – limit of 10 per session)

11.30am          Presentation:  Don’t wait until it’s too late -

                      Local resident Frank Anderson shares his family history research.

12.30pm          Show and Tell:  Bring your family history treasures to an informal round table discussion with Liverpool Library’s Heritage Collections Curator.

1.30pm            Presentation:  Relatively speaking -

                      It is important to take the time to talk to your family; aunts and uncles, parents and grandparents.            Liverpool City Library’s Family History Officer shows us why.

4pm                 Family History Fair closes

Saturday 20 August — Day 2

Learn about military research with retired Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) Peter Allen OAM.

12.30pm          Show and Tell:  Bring your family history treasures to an informal round table discussion with Liverpool Library’s Heritage Collections Curator.

1.30pm            Presentation:  Family History and Objects -

Dr Richard Reid Curator of the National Museum of Australia’s exhibition Not Just Ned:  A true history of the Irish in Australia presents a talk on Irish Family History 

 4pm                Family History Fair closes

Refreshments including sandwiches, hotdogs and drinks will be provided for a small charge on both days by the Liverpool Genealogy Society Inc. to assist with their fundraising.
