To celebrate WA Week, the Western Australian Genealogical Society Inc. (WAGS) will hold an ‘Open Day’ for Western Australian family historians on Thursday 5th June from 10:00am till 3:00pm.

Have you ever wondered where your family came from – when they arrived in Western Australia? Where did they settle? Here is your chance to discover a little bit more about your West Australian family at the Society’s ‘Open Day’.

Volunteers will be on hand to give you free advice and the West Australian special interest groups: Convict Group, Enrolled Pensioner Guards, Swan River Pioneers (1829-1838), Western Australian will have displays.  At the time of going to print we are planning on having a guest speaker during the day - check out the WAGS website (www.wags.org.au) for topic, time and up-to-date details.

We invite you to come along (and bring your friends) to see the wonderful facilities WAGS provide.  See the huge collection of Western Australian research material as well as records from all parts of the world. Our bookshop will also be open on the day and the special interest groups’ and library volunteers will be able to assist you with your research queries.

The Open Day will be held at the Society’s premises at Units 4-6, 48 May Street, Bayswater.  For more information contact Lorraine Clarke 0409 680 207, email wasig@wags.org.au; phone the WAGS Library on 9271 4311 or visit our website at www.wags.org.au
