The objectives of the Wagga Wagga and District Historical Society are to promote and stimulate local historical research, and to support the preservation of associated objects, both natural and man made.

To this end we meet on a monthly basis (excluding January), and we publish a bi-monthly newsletter.

The Society are the legal owners of the Willans Hill Museum, but same is permanently leased to the Wagga Wagga City Council, who manage and control the operation of the museum. Details of the museum's programs are available on the Council's web page.

The Society has representation on several council committees.

The Society has always enjoyed a sound relationship with the Wagga Wagga Family History Society, the Archives at South Campus of Charles Sturt University, the Wagga Wagga branch of the National Trust, the Wagga Wagga City Library, and other community bodies - these are viewed as important bonds that enhance our ability to achieve desired objectives, and to provide additional social interaction for members.
