Andrew Peake is a publisher of a number of finding aids with a focus on South Australia, including South Australian History Sources. Also published several family histories (Towsend and Peake familes) and short local histories (Estcourt House and Penola) . Author and publisher of the major reference work on Australian personal bookplates (Australian Personal Bookplates).
Andrew is a graduate of the University of South Australia (BA Social Work) and of the University of New England (Graduate Diploma of Local and Applied History and Master of Letters (Australian History) and has the Diploma of Family History Studies (Society of Australian Genealogists). He has also been awarded the Meritorious Service Award for Family History by the Australasian Federation of Family History organisations.
He has been interested in family history since 1969, and he published his first family history, The Family History of William Remnant Townsend, in 1970. He founded the South Australian Genealogy and Heraldry Society with the Anglican Bishop of Adelaide of the time, Dr T T Reed in 1972.
Andrew carries out professional family and local history research in South Australian record repositories.
