In 2004 the Queensland Prison & Penal Historical Association (a non-profit organisation) was formed by tour guides to research and promote - and to compile and catalogue - St Helena Island's history.
Projects
Our first book St Helena Island, Moreton Bay 'An historical account' ISBN 978-0-9807003-4-3 was released in May 2011. On the 25th August,2011 this book was awarded a gold heritage award by Queensland National Trust.
