Research Costs
- Researchers encouraged to visit and conduct their own research where possible. A basic Research Service with certain restrictions is available. Research is undertaken on a fee basis according to the Council's current Fees & Charges, and only on material that is unique to our collection and only available to people living unreasonable distances from the library, (i.e. interstate) making a personal visit impossible. The Local Studies Collection focuses on collecting and making accessible, materials relating to the Hawkesbury district. The Hawkesbury was settled by Europeans by 1794 and many people can trace their families back to this historic region. The Local Studies Collection has a variety of materials available for research including:

- Church, Cemetery & Census Records
- Newspapers, Newsletters & Journals
- Photographs
- Electronic Resources, Microfilm & fiche
- Maps
- Pamphlet file includes unpublished family histories, clippings etc
Of special interest, researchers are encouraged to lodge copies of their research into the Local Studies Collection for posterity.
