The Friends of Toowong Cemetery is a voluntary organisation of people with a special interest in the Toowong Cemetery (formally known as the Brisbane General Cemetery), located in Toowong, Brisbane, Australia.

The Toowong Cemetery is the largest cemetery in Queensland and is an important record of the history of Brisbane and Queensland. It was officially opened in July 1875 and over 117,000 people are buried there. Toowong Cemetery is an operating cemetery. We are consulted by the Brisbane City Council in decisions regarding future planning, new initiatives, restoration of graves.

The FOTC hold meetings usually on the last Wednesday evening of the month. Guided walks in the cemetery are held on the first Sunday of the month at 10.30am (except January). Walk dates and copies of previous walk booklets can be downloaded from our Heritage Walks page. A link to a printable Toowong Cemetery map is available on our Links Page.
