Presenting your research poll results

Here are the results of our 7th Unlock the Past poll.

Cruise poll results

Here are the results of our 6th Unlock the Past poll. 214 people voted. 35 said they had been on a cruise before and 28 sent comments.  With over 205 indications of strong interest (definite, probably and partner)  it would seem that a block booking for 300 could be filled. Inevitably some may not be able to come at the time selected, but perhaps some of the 67 “maybes” could be persuaded. And of course we have only given very limited notice to date.

Age of researchers poll results

Here are the results of our fifth Unlock the Past poll. Two questions were asked:

  • What age bracket are you in?
  • What year did you start researching?

What age bracket are you in? – 460 responses

Our icon or logo poll results

Here are the results of our fourth Unlock the Past poll. 119 people voted and another 15 sent comments. This poll was more for our own interest in planning an updated logo and “corporate image”.

QUESTION: Help! What do you think of the coloured graphic we currently use? [the "O" in our Unlock the Past title at the top of the page]

Magazine poll results

Here are the results of our third Unlock the Past poll. 210 people cast 701 votes in all. This indicates an average of more than 3 magazines per person.

What Genealogy Magazines do you read regularly or occasionally?.

Society membership poll results

Here are the results of our first Unlock the Past poll. 172 votes were cast by 116 people, a good number, given this was an early poll on a site that has just started.

More than just an events resource

We introduced Unlock the Past in our previous post, writing mainly about our foundation as an events resource. But Unlock the Past will be much more than this. We plan to develop the web site as a significant history and genealogy resource and gateway. Much of our focus is on reaching people in the traditional ways such as events and publishing. But we want to tap into new technologies to add much more value and to reach those who can’t get to events. The aim is also reach a wider, younger audience generally.
