Here are the results of our fifth Unlock the Past poll. Two questions were asked:

Shauna Hicks was interviewed on radio by Stan Thomson during his Mornings program on ABC SE South Australia during her visit to Mount Gambier on Monday 2 Nov 2009.  She talked about her visit to the Mount Gambier History Group to speak on Discovering Military Ancestors Online.

Here are the results of our third Unlock the Past poll. 210 people cast 701 votes in all. This indicates an average of more than 3 magazines per person.

What Genealogy Magazines do you read regularly or occasionally?.

World Vital Records Australasia has about 50 million names for Australia and New Zealand in a variety of databases. These include directories, government and police gazettes, some electoral rolls, death records, war records, regional and general histories and more. Some of these, especially for Queensland, are in structured databases. However 90% of the current Australasian content is scanned images of books and periodicals.

Here are the results of our second Unlock the Past poll. 82 votes were cast. With multiple choices allowed the number of voters would have been somewhat less.
